Owned by an architect and a sculptress, this set of buildings is simply stunning. In all buildings, the original features and stone/wood/glass structures have been kept intact as much as possible, and furnishing and fittings complement these aspects with minimalist rustic-chic panache.

When renovating it, the owners wanted to keep the Trullo building as immaculate and pure as possible and restored it on a stone-by-stone basis.

The glass-walled dining area makes the most of the beautiful garden; the glass walls are sliding so it can be turned into a completely open area. In the stone building, the kitchen has marble tops and stainless steel, and all the appliances are integrated.

Set over 4 acres, this 4-bedroom, 4-bathroom home has plenty of outdoor space. It includes 1 original small Trullo, 1 wooden building (10m from the Trullo), 1 stone building and 1 glass building (set away from them in the garden). The Trullo has 2 cones and contains 1 double bedroom, a living room and a shower room. The first wood house has a double bedroom, walk-in shower room. The glass veranda has a kitchen plus a table for 8.

The vaulted stone building includes a full indoor living space with kitchen, living, dining, and a large master bedroom with en-suite shower room. It is connected via a glass corridor open on all sides to a wood bedroom with en-suite shower room. The outside space features a plunge pool and a second infinity pool set amongst a series of lawns, dotted with olive trees and criss-crossed by dry-stone walls and gravel paths, plus a series of sitting areas and an al fresco dining area for those long summer evenings.

This magical, romantic property with a pool, created from a traditional Trullo plus modern additions, includes bikes, swing chairs and a vegetable garden full of tomatoes and herbs. Best for older children, it is tranquil and offers an easy space for parents to cook in the outdoor kitchen while kids run around and enjoy the swimming pool.

Ostuni, Locorotondo, Martina Franca and Alberobello are all within 20 minutes’ drive and offer some of the most interesting summer music events and plenty of fantastic restaurants. It takes around 25 minutes to reach the coast and the towns of Monopoli, Savelletri and Taranto.

It is an inspiring place to do gardening, cooking and simply chilling out listening to music. There is high speed WiFi. Sleeping up to 10, it is ideal for a large family or 2 families traveling together.

The pool is always a great attraction. There are 2 mountain bikes in the garage for adventurous kids. Wild blackberries and almonds grow everywhere around the property; children can go fruit picking on their own. The outside space includes a covered terrace with swinging chairs. There is plenty of space to run and play.

The quality of the air, food and the total tranquillity makes it a great family destination; the balance between beaches and historical cities and their art and architecture make this a fun region to explore together. Note that bedrooms are split across 3 separate buildings and there are relatively few concessions for younger children. Younger children can sleep with their parents in the Trullo on a double sofa bed. A crib and high chair are available.

Minimum stay: 7 nights. The Trullo is 10m from the wood house, and there is 1 bedroom in each, plus 2 in the stone building. Everything is accessible from ground level. The swimming pool sits on an elevated area accessible only through a pool deck 1 meter above the ground level. It is not gated or heated but has a comfortable temperature June-October. There is an electronic gate to enter the property and some 100m of private road among olive trees. WiFi is available in every building (the Trullo, the wood house and the glass house) and the Trullo and wood house are fully air conditioned.
