This is one of the most ancient castles in Italy, built by the Byzantines before the year 1000 as a defense against the Saracens. In the following centuries it was deeply modified in its structure by the Normans and then during the reign of the Emperor Frederick II.
It has been carefully restored and its rooms and court can be a wonderful setting for a wedding ceremony.
