Ceremonies
Civil Wedding
We recommend this type of ceremony if you want a wedding that will be considered legally valid all over the world.
This civil ceremony can be arranged in the local town hall or in historic villas, medieval castles, or on panoramic terraces that have been authorised by the local mayor to legally host weddings. The choice of locations on offer is so vast that we can cater to your every possible desire!
Here is some further information about civil weddings in Italy:
- Civil ceremonies are carried out by the Italian authorities and are therefore legally valid in your home country
- The ceremony is conducted in Italian by the mayor or his representative and is translated into your language by an official interpreter
- The service lasts between 20 and 45 minutes
- It’s a legal requirement to have two adult witnesses
- An outdoor civil ceremony can only be held in a location that has been approved by the Italian authorities, but if you have your heart set on a different location, we can still make the marriage legal by signing documents at the nearest town hall

Catholic Wedding
Puglia has some of the most beautiful and significant churches in the whole of Italy, so if you are looking for a catholic wedding in Puglia the choice is literally endless!
How about getting married in one of our architectural masterpieces? Puglia can offer an extensive range of churches dating as far back as the eleventh century, and their Romantic or Baroque style will make your wedding even more special.
A Catholic ceremony in Italy can also be valid legally.
The requirements for celebrating a Catholic wedding in Italy are as follows:
- Permission must be obtained from your local Bishop, who will present you to the local Italian Church organization or ‘Curia’. You will also need confirmation of your baptism.
- You will need to attend a pre-nuptial course in your local parish
- It will be impossible to hold a Catholic wedding if either the bride or groom is divorced and the previous marriage has not been officially annulled
- Most priests prefer to receive a direct donation from the newlyweds, which can be used for charitable purposes
You can count on our support for the entire period running up to the wedding, and we are happy to act as an intermediary for the necessary paperwork between the Italian church and that of your country, so that everything turns out perfectly on the day.
Protestant Wedding
Although Catholicism is the predominant religion in Puglia, there are some Protestant churches where weddings can be held for foreign nationals. You are also free to opt for a Protestant ceremony held in other locations such as a romantic castle, an historic villa or even outdoors, with one of our breath-taking views.
This type of Protestant wedding may be either a “blessing”, which is not legally binding, or a full Protestant ceremony that includes the necessary procedures to make the ceremony valid from a legal point of view.
We work with a number of ministers of various denominations and we can organize Anglican or Evangelical ceremonies as well as Lutheran, Baptist, Methodist, Episcopal or Presbyterian.
The minister usually asks to get in touch with you before the ceremony to inform you about any religious requirements and we will, of course, be there to help during this stage so that you can personalize your wedding with your favourite scripture readings, music, personal vows and the lighting of candles.
Feel free to ask anything you like on how to plan an unforgettable Protestant wedding in Puglia.
Jewish Wedding
We can organize your traditional Jewish wedding in a synagogue or in any other kind of location, such as a beautiful historical building, a garden or a terrace with a breath-taking view.
The specific rules for the Jewish community in Puglia are the same as those which are followed in your country, and your local Rabbi must prepare the necessary religious documents for us to pass to the relevant Italian Rabbi. The precise details and procedures will need to be discussed in more detail with the Italian Rabbi.
If you prefer, however, you can also bring your own Rabbi to celebrate your wedding in Puglia, however, in this case it’s necessary to organize the legal ceremony first, both in Italy and in your home country. We will be on hand to help you decide the best solution for you needs.
As for the reception, we can organize a fully kosher wedding banquet, so don’t hesitate to contact us if you would like more information on Jewish weddings, either Orthodox or non-Orthodox.
Hindu Wedding
Bright colours, ancient rituals and traditions are what characterize a Hindu wedding, which is considered the most important ceremony in India. The wedding itself can differ according to the customs of the particular area in India, but the common theme is always the traditional bridal sari and the unique necklaces of coloured flowers, which are made for the bride and groom during their Barat and Kanya Agaman grand entrances.
One of the most beautiful closing rituals in the Hindu ceremony is that of the Saptapadi or “Seven Steps” during which the newlyweds walk seven steps around the fire, symbolizing the 7 elements of respect, love, honesty, mutual support, health, fertility and an everlasting relationship.
With its beautiful outdoor spaces and Mediterranean gardens, Puglia is the ideal place for your Hindu wedding. Our experienced staff is completely at your disposal to lend a hand at any stage of the pre-wedding plans.
